WHAT A BUSY WEEK...


Sorry for not being able to update this blog. We had problems with our internet connection as most webpages have been blocked (problems with schoolnet). But finally, I can surf the net smoothly :D

Latest update from Ulu Kakus : I have been very busy renewing, creating new teaching aids and also beautifying my preschool (please refer to the slideshow below).. Made name tags for my children, renewed the Rukun Negara chart, made placemats with childrens' work and etc... Will update more this weekend! (YAY!)... 


I have some things in mind for this weekend. I plan to create some preschool songs in mp3 format. Children love singing and they get even more excited when the songs that they sing is accompanied by music :D.. Do visit my page again yeah! till then, have a wonderful weekend everyone!

TEMA MINGGUAN : BADAN SAYA

Aktiviti-aktiviti yang dapat kita jalankan sempena tema minggu ini :

5 SENSES PUPPET


What you need:
5 senses puppets printouts
Jumbo craft sticks
Crayons, markers
Glue
Scissors

What you do:
Print 5 senses patterns on heavy printing paper. Let children color the puppets and cut out. Attach a large craft stick to the back of the puppets. Use to recite the 5 senses rhymes.



HAPPY AND SAD FACE
 
What you need:
Small paper plate
Red craft paper
Black craft paper
White craft paper
Black marker
Scissors
Glue
Brass fastener

What you do:
1. For the eyes, cut two black circles and two white small circles out of craft paper.
2. Glue circles together and glue eyes to the back of a small paper plate.
3. With a black marker make a circle around each eye and add eyelashes and a nose.
4. Draw and cut a smiling mouth out of red craft paper.
5. Drill a hole through the middle of the mouth and through the paper plate.
6. Attach mouth with a brass fastener to the paper plate.
7. For the hair, cut yarn into pieces and tie together in the middle with a piece of yarn.
8. Add glue to the top of paper plate face and attach the hair.
9. Use face puppet to talk about emotions.
Ask questions like:“What makes you happy? How do we know if someone is happy? Let’s pretend we are happy.”“What makes you sad? How do we know if someone is sad? Let’s pretend we are sad.”

What you need:
Booklet printouts
Pencils
Scissors



What you do:
Print booklet pages and assemble booklet. Read the pages together with children and let children draw the missing body parts on each page.

It wasn’t long ago when you were thrilled at seeing your babies learn how to walk. You can’t help, but be amazed at how fast they’ve grown up. Pretty soon, you’ll be enrolling them in nursery school. If you are among the many excited parents who are about to enroll their three- or four-year-old kids in a play school or formal pre-school, and contemplating on ways to effectively teach the A-B-Cs to your budding little Einsteins, here are some tips for a fun learning experience.

The best way to go about it, as most parents who have been there will say, is to encourage the child’s natural curiosity. Teach the alphabet through fun, spontaneous activity-based learning. At young ages, highly competitive activities may stress the child too much and interfere with the kids’ natural development. Kids vary though, in the pace with which they can start absorbing key concepts like the alphabet. There are some who can already recognize letters as early as age two or three, but there are also late-starters. As social theorists like Jean Piaget and Jerome Bruner postulated, children must be allowed to develop and learn pieces of information or concepts on their own. Indeed, studies show that it’s the free time spent interacting with the world which boosts confidence and creativity.

Hands-on parents can actually track their children’s development on a sensory-themed timeline. Color-matching letters with pictures, story games, colorful and interactive toys with sounds are but some of the learning tools to introduce kids to the alphabet. Once a child’s attention is hooked, or his/her interest and curiosity sparked, it can be the best stimulus to learning. Once you get them off to a running start, you can relax a bit and let them learn on their own.

The five best methods to introduce the alphabet to your little angels may be: 1. through singing; 2. through books or cut-out pictures; 3. through food; 4. through alphabet games; and 5. through art activities like finger painting.

The first recommended method, singing melodious songs that include all letters of the alphabet, is a tried-and-tested method that appeals to just about any kid. Singing with your kids can be real fun and mind-stimulating for tots.

The second method highlights the importance of books and pictures in igniting the interest of young minds for basic concepts like the alphabet. Getting kids interested in listening to their parents read bedtime stories are a great way to introduce the letters in the alphabet. Children’s books with individual letters and matching photos of animals or common objects are all-time favorites among parents and other well-meaning adults who give these as gifts to toddlers and young learners. Make the most of these learning aids for your nursery-age kids.

The third effective way to teach the alphabet to kids is through food. You can try baking cookies with frosted decoration of the different letters of the alphabet on each piece. Your child will surely get a kick from identifying the letters before gobbling the cookies.

The fourth method, alphabet games, may be used in combination with some of the aforementioned methods. You can give free rein to your creativity – from putting alphabet magnets on the refrigerator where your child can see them, to opting for flash cards, or playing educational alphabet DVDs during conducive moments, there are varied ways to teach your child the alphabet.

The final method incorporates fun art activities like finger painting the different letters of the alphabet in different colors will likewise stimulate the different senses, notably the touch and sight of kids.

PENYERTAAN MURID PRASEKOLAH AKAN DITINGKATKAN




Penyertaan Murid Prasekolah Akan Ditingkatkan

PUTRAJAYA: Kementerian Pelajaran mensasarkan untuk meningkatkan kadar penyertaan murid prasekolah sebanyak lima peratus kepada 72 peratus tahun ini dengan membabitkan kanak-kanak seawal umur empat tahun, kata Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin, yang juga Menteri Pelajaran berkata, langkah itu merupakan tumpuan Kementerian Pelajaran kepada usaha untuk mencapai sasaran awal bagi satu daripada empat sub bidang keberhasilan utama negara (NKRA) pendidikan tahun ini.

"Penyertaan kanak-kanak seawal umur empat tahun dalam sistem prasekolah diharapkan dapat membina keyakinan anak-anak dan membentuk pemikiran kritis, kreatif dan inovatif dari awal lagi.

"Perluasan pendidikan prasekolah ke dalam aliran perdana pendidikan akan membolehkan negara kita menepati standard antarabangsa dalam menyediakan pendidikan bagi tempoh 12 tahun bagi setiap murid," katanya pada majlis Perutusan Tahun Baru 2010 kepada warga Kementerian Pelajaran di Pusat Konvensyen Antarabangsa Putrajaya (PICC) di sini, hari ini.

Tiga sub NKRA pendidikan yang lain ialah penguasaan 3M iaitu kemahiran membaca, menulis dan mengira akan ditingkatkan dengan pengenalan program Literasi dan Numerasi (LINUS); melahirkan Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi; dan merangka suatu insentif berbentuk kewangan dan bukan kewangan kepada kepimpinan sekolah.

Mengulas lanjut, Muhyiddin berkata, bagi mencapai sasaran lima peratus kementerian menambah bilangan kelas prasekolah kepada 315 buah kelas dengan bilangan guru prasekolah seramai 7,511 orang pada tahun ini.

"Semua prasekolah, kerajaan mahupun swasta akan menggunakan Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah Kebangsaan (KSPK)," katanya.

Mengenai program LINUS, beliau berkata, pengenalan program itu pada peringkat sekolah rendah akan membolehkan lebih tumpuan diberikan kepada murid yang lemah penguasaannya dalam kemahiran 3M.

"Pada masa ini, kadar literasi dalam kalangan murid sekolah rendah adalah 87 peratus. Sasaran bagi tahun 2010 ialah peningkatan sebanyak tiga peratus iaitu kepada 90 peratus," katanya.

Beliau berkata, guru-guru terbaik akan ditempatkan untuk mengajar Tahun 1 dan menambah bilangan guru pemulihan di sekolah pada nisbah seorang guru kepada 15 murid berbanding nisbah sedia ada iaitu seorang guru kepada satu sekolah.

Muhyiddin berkata, kumpulan guru yang bertindak sebagai fasilitator untuk membantu guruguru dalam program Linus, akan diwujudkan di semua Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah.

Beliau berkata, bermula tahun ini semua pemimpin sekolah perlu menetapkan sasaran pencapaian bagi membolehkan insentif berbentuk kewangan dan bukan kewangan diberikan kepada pengetua dan guru besar yang mencapai kedudukan tertinggi atas sumbangan mereka.

Mengenai Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi, Muhyiddin berkata, sebanyak 20 buah sekolah disasarkan untuk menjadi Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi pada tahun ini bagi merealisasikan matlamat untuk menjadikan 100 buah sekolah dalam kumpulan ini pada tahun 2012.

Sementara itu, dalam perkembangan lain beliau berkata, 69 buah Sekolah Menengah Teknik distruktur semula untuk dijadikan Sekolah Menengah Vokasional dan kementerian merancang program terbaik agar sekolah aliran vokasional dan kemahiran menjadi satu daripada bidang aliran perdana dalam sistem pendidikan.

Pada majlis sama, Muhyiddin turut menerima sumbangan daripada Petronas sebanyak RM2 juta bagi Tabung Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pelajar Miskin yang menyediakan bantuan kewangan kepada pelajar sekolah yang memerlukan. - BERNAMA


MINGGU PERTAMA PERSEKOLAHAN (Minggu Orientasi)


Minggu ini merupakan minggu pertama persekolahan untuk semua sekolah di Malaysia. Pada tahun ini, terdapat sebanyak 12 orang murid lelaki dan 13 orang murid perempuan.


Saya berasa bersyukur kerana minggu orientasi telah berlangsung dengan lancar dan tiada insiden yang tidak diingini berlaku. Murid-murid prasekolah kelihatan sangat gembira dan tidak sabar-sabar untuk menimba ilmu.

Untuk pengetahuan semua, prasekolah saya terletak di kawasan pedalaman ketiga (boleh dikatakan di dalam hutan ;).  Majoriti masyarakat di sini berbangsa Kenyah Badeng. Kebanyakan ibu bapa murid bekerja sebagai petani.

Walaupun jauh terpencil dalam hutan, murid-murid prasekolah di sini kebanyakannya sudah mempunyai sikap berdikari dan dapat datang ke kelas tanpa ditemani oleh ibu bapa mereka. Hanya 2-3 orang murid sahaja yang masih meragam.




Hmmm... nakal ke cikgu?? Memang nakal juga murid-murid pra tahun ni. Semua mempunyai karenah masing-masing. Murid-murid sangat bersemangat melibatkan diri dalam segala aktiviti yang diadakan pada minggu ini. Semoga minat mereka akan berterusan sepanjang tahun ini ;)

RANCANGAN TAHUNAN TERAS DAN TEMA 2010 PRASEKOLAH




Pheww... akhirnya berjaya juga saya menghasilkan blog untuk prasekolah saya. Belum lagi lengkap sepenuhnya. Memang impian saya untuk membangunkan sebuah blog untuk prasekolah SK Ulu Kakus.


Hari ni saya nak kongsi dua laman web yang mengandungi Rancangan Tahunan Prasekolah KSPK 2010.
